Jango Fett Clones First Appearance: Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002) The Look: The beings that would come to be known as stormtroopers came into existence on the ocean planet of Kamino, some 10 years prior to the start of the Clone Wars. But have a look at the following permutations of the character that we did come up with, and remember, in the world of Imperial fashion, you're either in or you're out… or you're anonymously killed when the space station you're on is destroyed by a lucky shot from some Outer Rim farm boy. Keep in mind that we chose to just focus on the Star Wars movies for this story, finding them to be chock-full of stormtrooper style in and of themselves, and hence have avoided any of the comic, cartoon, toy, or various other media versions that have existed over the years for the Empire's white-clad cannon fodder. Whatever the situation, whatever the planet - be it of the ice, desert, or forest-moon variety - the stormtroopers have the fashion and attire to match. We didn't particularly want to spend our time gushing over Amidala's ridiculously ornate gowns, but then we realized that perhaps the most ordinary, commonplace, and boring character in the film series - the old Imperial Stormtrooper - also stands as the most diversely costumed. Here's hoping they have good laundry facilities in Mos Eisley… So anyway, when it came time to work up a Star Wars-themed Many Looks of… feature here at IGN Stars, the editorial team was a bit stumped at first. Sure, Luke gets a costume change here and there, but otherwise you've got guys like Obi-Wan and Yoda wearing the same outfit for like 20 or 30 years straight. But when you think about it, really, most of the characters in those films wear the same threads over and over again, with the exception of course of the main lady folk in the pictures (of which there are precisely two: Leia and Padmé). ![]()
